A Message From Sister Maureen Comer
For more than fourty years, the Lourdes Senior Community has served the elderly in southeast Michigan and beyond through the ministry of the Dominican Sisters of Oxford, Michigan. In 1965, we opened our doors with the Lourdes Nursing Home and, through the years, have witnessed the needs of seniors dramatically change and fluctuate.
Lourdes Senior Community strives to meet these needs, expanding over the years to include four facilities embracing a variety of specialties in senior living:
- Fox Manor Independent Living
- Mendelson Assisted Living Home
- Clausen Manor for Alzheimer’s Care
- Lourdes Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation
Set on thirty six acres in central Oakland County, Lourdes Senior Community is nestled along the shores of Scott Lake – a stunning location reflecting the beauty of God’s creation. I invite you to visit us and see the place our nearly 250 Residents call home.
Two Michigan Governor Care Awards honor our Campus: Clausen Manor in 1997 and Lourdes Nursing Home in 2001. Each year our facilities pass state surveys with exemplary records. Noteably, in 2003 and 2006, Lourdes Nursing Home received perfect surveys with zero citations.
Also in 2006, Mendelson Assisted Living Home received a perfect survey. In 2008 Oakland Press recognized us as "The Best of the Best" for senior living in Oakland County.
You may be visiting us to help find the services you or your loved one may need - an oftentimes difficult process we hope to make as comforting as possible.
Or you may be searching for employment with the Lourdes Senior Community, which I encourage you to explore as we continually seek qualified, caring individuals to become part of our ministry.
Or you may simply be looking for information about caring for the elderly which, since 1965, has certainly become our area of expertise.
Regardless, thank you for visiting the Lourdes Senior Community. I trust it will be of value, and invite you to visit us in person at any time.
Blessings,
Sister Maureen Comer, OP
